The Power The Media Can Have: Doll Face

Today in class we watched a YouTube video which includes how the media impacts lives. The video was made to show how far a person would go to look beautiful. Being accepted in today’s society has impact one’s self confidence. The media mostly impacts young adults. Many young adults want to look as good as the women on television, many may feel that they need to look a certain way to be accepted in today’s society. The media provides products which can make you look and feel beautiful. When you look around all you would see is beautiful airbrushed women who have silky straight hair, smooth skin, clean and clear faces and this impacts a lot of young adults, because they might wonder why they don’t look like that and may want to make some changes to their body regardless of the price. This relates to Adults as well who are influenced by billboards and want to do whatever it takes to change who they are. Plastic surgery is a big topic for many adults. Breast Implants can play a huge role, according to the MTV show True Life.

I am not influenced by today’s society, or beauty tends, however I have people around me who are. Everyone is born with different identities and features which makes a person who they are. I feel you shouldn't have to do certain things like: getting lip injections to fit into today’s society, because that’s not who you are or what you were born with.
